Dewayne Smith, 47, of Jenkins, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, following a brief illness.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1959, in Harrison, Ark., the son of William and Rosemary Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Jenkins and a foreman for Journagan Quarries and Construction for 26 years.
He married Beverly Thomas on June 24, 1978, in Cato. She survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Andrew Smith, of Jenkins, and Tyler Smith, of the home; one daughter, Tina Smith and her fiancÚ, Shawn Robeson, of Purdy; three brothers, Donnie Smith and his wife, Kandi, and David Smith and his wife, Diane, all of Clifty, Ark., and Darrell Smith and his wife Jennifer, of Cassville, Missouri; three sisters, Cindy Leftwich, and her husband, Bill, and Lisa Davis, all of Clifty, Ark., and Angie Smith of Cody, Wyo.; his mother-in-law, Vineta Smith, of Cassville; and his father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Glenn and Charlotte Thomas, of Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathy Farmer.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, with Preacher Mike Jones officiating, with burial at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins.
Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
