Frances Faye Thomas, 94, formerly of Cassville, went home to be with the Lord and her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, her husband, William, and her daughter, SuEllen, on Aug. 14, 2006. She was born in Ashland, Kan., to homesteaders Lola Belle and Sherman Shupe on Oct. 31, 1911.
She taught eight years in a one-room schoolhouse and was a lifelong Christian evangelist. She resided in Cassville with her husband between 1960 and 1985. She moved to Saint Augustine, Fla., to be with her grandchildren in 1992. She attended Southwest Bible Chapel in Springfield, Mo., and Good News Presbyterian in Saint Augustine, Fla., as well as a Ladies' Bible Study.
A celebration of Life Memorial will be held in her honor on Sept. 16, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Southwest Bible Chapel 1051 South Crutcher Street, Springfield.
She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville. Graveside flowers are gratefully accepted or those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to your favorite Christian charity.
She is survived by her grandchildren Antoinette (Tami) Gilkey and her husband, Tom, Saint Augustine, Fla., Scott Marshall and his wife, Susan, LaGrange, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ga., Jory and Glorie.
