Jessie Voorhies, 90, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Bradford House Care Center in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Nov. 22, 1915, at Lyford, Texas, to Frederick Alexander Thompson and Lillie Pearl Oaks Thompson. She retired from Emerson Electric and moved to Pea Ridge in 2002 from Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Voorhies, in 1965; a son, James Lee Ward; an infant daughter, Marjory Faye Voorhies; three brothers, Bill Thompson, Fred Alexander Thompson Jr., and George Lewis Thompson; four sisters, Mildred Hankins, Matilda Thompson, Annie Mae Johnston and Frances Hankins.

Survivors include: a daughter, Winifred Elizabeth Luper, of Kansas City; a sister, Barbara Lacta, of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Saturday at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Rev. Diana Hartfull officiating. Burial was at Seligman Cemetery.
