George Taylor, Jr., 82, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, in Red Rose Inn, Cassville.
He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Tyronza, Ark., the son of George and Annie (Harding) Taylor. He was united in marriage in Bakersfield, Calif., to Doris Kathleen Rogers, who preceded him in death in May 1986. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
survivors include: three sons, Michael Taylor, of Cassville, Steve Taylor, of Aurora, Colo., and David Taylor of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Sherry Patnode and her husband, Bob, of Monett, and Kathy Nethery and her husband, Matt, of Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Culus Taylor of New Mexico, Charles Taylor, of Calif., and Clarence Taylor and his wife, Marie, of Harrisburg, Ark.; two sisters, Betty Mae and her husband, Buddy of Michigan and Mary Ann Carpenter of Tyronza, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He received his high school education in the military. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving his country. George moved from Tyronza, Arkansas to Cassville to make his home a year ago. He was of the Baptist faith.
His body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. A private service will be held at a later date.
