James (Jim) Lee, 51, of Seligman, departed this life July 5, 2006, in Cox Medical Center, South, Springfield, Mo., after a nine-month battle with cancer.

He was born March 5, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., to Dayne and Betty (Tucker) Lee. James united in marriage to Rhoda Brinkman on April 24, 1976. To this union two children were born.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was raised of the Southern Baptist faith and held that faith all of his days. Jim was a member of the Cassville, Mo., Masonic Lodge #383.

Survivors include: his wife Rhoda, of the home; one son, Michael Lee; one daughter Melinda Merritt and her husband, Aaron, all of Seligman; two brothers, Ed lee and his wife, Leona, of Cassville, and Ron Lee and his wife, Carol, of Monett; one sister, Judy Harris and her husband Ron; his parents, Dayne and Betty Lee, all of Cassville. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews whom he held very near and dear to his heart.

Cremation is under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield. Per Jim's wishes, there will be no services held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Community Hospices of America-Southwest Missouri, 1465 E Primrose St., Springfield, MO 65807 or to the American Cancer Society.
