Cecil R. Duncan, 80, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in Springdale, Ark.
He was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Exeter, the son of Henry and Anna (Reed) Duncan. On Nov. 9, 1944 in Fayetteville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Pauline Hussey, who survives. Additional survivors include: a son, Ron Duncan and his wife, Theresa, of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, J. C. Duncan and his wife, Patty, of Cassville; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He graduated from Wheaton High School and was a lifelong resident of the Wheaton area. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a dairy farmer and plant foreman for Kraft Foods in Wheaton and Bentonville, Ark. until his retirement in 1986. He was an active member of the Wheaton community. He was President of the School Board for six years and served on the school board for 12 years. He was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church where he was song leader for 40 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Steve Higgs conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
