Michael Allen Whittenburg, 37, of Purdy, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006, in his home.

He was born Oct. 5, 1968, in Monett, the son of Roy Dean and Martha (Lamp) Whittenburg. On Sept. 2, 2005, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Daisy Whittenburg, who survives.

survivors include: his father, Roy Dean Whittenburg, Sr., of Monett; his mother, Martha Utter of Butterfield; one son, Michael Allen Scott Whittenburg, Jr.; a stepdaughter, Kayla Dubois; five brothers, Johnny Whittenburg and his wife, April, Roy Dean Whittenburg, Jr. and his wife, Ronda, Nathan Bamburg, Roy Lee Bamburg, and John Bamburg, Jr.; five sisters, Tammy Whittenburg, Deborah Dunmire and her husband, Wayne, Mary Varela and her husband, Robert, Inetta Fryar and Melissa Kaye Bamburg.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Elgin and Mary Estallene Whittenburg; his grandfather, Clinton Lamp; a brother, Deanie Whittenburg; a sister, Joann Shadrick.

He received his education in Granby. He worked as a roofer and painter until he became disabled.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at IOOF Cemetery, Monett. Rev. Gene Robinson will conduct the services.
