Thelma May, 74, of Cassville, formerly of Wellington, Kan., died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at her home in Cassville.

She was born the daughter of Boyd Henry and Dora Abbynita Wierick May on Nov. 10, 1931, in Lincoln, Ark. She was united in marriage with L.E. May on March 3, 1950. To this union four children were born. She worked at the Wellington Hospital in the kitchen for a number of years before retiring to Cassville.

Survivors include: her husband, L.E. May, of Cassville; one son, Terry May and his wife, Robin, of Stella; three daughters, Janice Johnson, of Wellington, Kan., Roxie Lintecum and her husband, Jim, of Holstead, Kan., and Sandy Eady, of Wellington, Kan.; two brothers, Clifford Long and his wife, Vi, of Cassville, and Henry "Hank" Long, of Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Clorine "Todie" Jesseph and her husband, Wayne, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, three sisters, one brother and two sons-in-law, Don Johnson and Jerry Eady.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, Kan., with the Pastor Sallie Shore officiating.

A memorial has been established with Community Hospices of America in Monett, or the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Cassville.
