Honoring a war hero

Retired USAF Lt. Col. Steve Gray, who now serves as senior military and veterans advisor to U.S. Congressman John Boozman from Arkansas, pinned a series of World War II service medals on Joe Still during a special ceremony held last Friday at the Shell Knob VFW Post. Still was a radio operator during World War II and was shot down over Hamburg, Germany. He spent 25 months in Stalag 17B, an infamous German prisoner of war camp. Democrat Photo
