Wildcats selected for All-Star game
A pair of Cassville soccer players and the Wildcat coach have been selected to participate in the second annual Southwest Soccer All-Stars game at the Cooper Soccer Complex in Springfield on Thursday, June 22.
Nick Schlichtman and Brett Buchanan, both seniors on the highly successful 2005 Cassville soccer squad, will be playing for the red team, which will be coached by Terry Jamieson, Cassville High School soccer coach, and Jeff Rogers, Glendale High School soccer coach.
Seniors Kyle Bishop, goalie, and Spencer Lynch, defender, were also invited to play in the All-Star game but declined the invitation.
Schlichtman, playing forward, earned numerous honors during his high school career. This past season, Schlichtman was named District Player of the Year as well as being selected first team All-State, All-Region, All-Ozarks and All-District.

In the fall, Schlichtman will continue his soccer career at Truman State University in Kirksville where he will join the Bulldogs' soccer team.
Buchanan also had an exceptional senior campaign. He scored 22 goals in 2005 and earned All-District and All-Region first team honors and was named to the All-Ozarks second team. He also was a three-sport athlete all four years of his high school career.
Both Buchanan and Schlichtman were four-year starters for the Wildcats.
