Joyce Eloise Vaughan, 74, of Cassville, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, in St John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
She was born in Cassville, June 16, 1931, the daughter of Floyd Jack and Helen Eloise (Sullivan) Sivadon. On Sept. 23, 1950, in Aurora, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Vaughan, who survives.
|In addition to her husband of over 55 years, she is survived by two sons, Charles Allen Vaughan and his wife, Patricia Lee, of Forks, Wash., and Steven Eric Vaughan and his wife, Diana, of Ponca City, Okla.; her mother, Helen Meador, of Cassville; seven grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Sivadon of Seattle, Wash.||She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Sivadon, step-father, Fred Meador, her brother, Carl Fredrick "Freddy" Sivadon and two grandsons.||She grew up in Cassville and worked after school and on weekends at Hall's Theatre and Rowland's Dry Goods. She graduated Cassville High School in the Class of 1949. She was secretary for the Chamber of Commerce in Cassville for several years, before going to South Barry County Hospital where she worked for over 30 years in human resources and as Assistant Administrator. While at the hospital, She continued her education attending Drury College where she received a degree in Hospital Administration. She retired from the hospital in May 1995. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Cassville, and Sarah II Sunday School Class, Silver Leaf Benefit Club, Triple L (Living Longer and Loving It), Barry County Health Department Board where she served as secretary, St. John's Hospital Auxiliary and Cassville Chamber of Commerce.|
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John Duncan will conduct the services.
memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or "His Children Camp" in care of the funeral home. No visitation is planned.
