Mrs. Eleanor (Tyrrell) Babb, 89, of Cassville passed away Monday, May 22, 2006, in her home.
She was born June 1, 1916, in Sterling, Kan., the daughter of John and Minnie (Allington) Tyrrell. On Dec. 26, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., she was united in marriage to B. F. Babb, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, John Babb and his wife, Victoria, of Washington, D.C., and Joe Babb and his wife, Kathy, of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Julie Mathis and her husband, Chuck, of Warner Robbins, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She received her education in Kansas then moved to Missouri to make her home 60 years ago. In 1971 she received her Masters Degree in teaching from Webster College. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Daughters of American Revolution and the Kansas Teachers Association. She taught school over 30 years, in Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee and California.
Funeral services were Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
