On April 22, the Cassville Wildcat freshman baseball team traveled to Reeds Spring to play a doubleheader. The first game was a well-played game, with the young 'Cats getting the win in extra innings by a score of 3-2.
Jake Nolan went six innings and didn't give up any runs on three hits and six strikeouts.
Patric Maher went two-for-three, Zach Brasher went one-for-two with a RBI double, Vinee McCracken was zero-for-two with a sacrifice, Nathan Riehn went one-for-three with two runs scored, Ryan Pace went zero-for-two with one run scored, and David Lunsford went zero-to-one with a RBI sacrifice.
The second game went to Aurora by a score of 10-9.
Lunsford went zero-for-two with one run scored, Aaron Brooks scored one run and pitched two strong innings of relief, and Nolan went one-for-three with a triple, a RBI and two runs scored.
Riehn went one-for-two with a RBI and two runs scored, William Alberson went one-for-two with a RBI, Chris Paul went zero-for-three with one run scored, Tylor Williams went one-for-three with a RBI and one run scored, and Colby Morgan went zero-for-two with a RBI.
Then on April 27, the Wildcats traveled to Mt. Vernon for another doubleheader and won both games. The final score of the first game was 4-1. Aaron Brooks pitched five innings and gave up one earned run on four hits, two walks, one hit batter and four strike outs.
McCracken went one-for-three with a RBI, Nolan went one-for-three with a double, Riehn went one-for-two with a run scored, Brasher went zero-for-one with two runs scored, Seth Thompson went two-for-two with a RBI and a run scored, and Cody Pierson went one-for-two.
In the second game, the 'Cats won by a score of 14-5. Lunsford pitched five innings and gave up four earned runs on six walks and four strikeouts.
William Alberson went one-for-three with a RBI, Lunsford went zero-for-one with three runs scored, James Alberson went four-for-four with three RBIs, three runs scored and two doubles. Riehn went two-for-three with three RBIs and two runs scored, Nolan went zero-for-two with two runs scored, Paul went zero-for-four with one run scored, and Williams went zero-for-two with one run scored.
