John "Jack" N. Focht, Jr., 82, of Cassville, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in St. John's Hospital -- Aurora.

He was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Philadelphia, Penn., the son of John, Sr. and Isabell (Richey) Focht, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include:a brother, James Focht, of Florida; a sister, Isabell Sturgell and her husband, Dorman, of Aurora.

He was drafted into the United States Army out of High School. He served his country during World War II and took part in the liberation of the Jews in Dachau, Germany. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for Armour Meat Company until he retired. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Cassville, the VFW and the American Legion. He was in the Boy Scouts of America Program for almost 50 years and a member of the Royal Rangers Post 13 in Aurora.

Graveside services with military honors were held at Monday at Clio Cemetery, Jenkins, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Robert Day conducted the services.
