Clara Woodruff Stockton, 76, of Monett, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield following a long illness.
She was born Feb. 11, 1930, in Paducah, Texas, to the late James Walter and Clara Bell Spence Ledbetter. She worked for Jumping Jacks Shoe Co. in Monett for several years. She married William Leonard Woodruff on Feb. 20, 1946, in Oakland, Calif., and he proceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1985. She later married Norman Stockton on Sept. 9, 1989, in Monett; he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2000.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; one step-son; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include: two sons, "Woody" William Woodruff and his wife, Sharon, of Monett, Steve Woodruff and his wife, Judy, of Kansas City; one daughter, Melodie Myers, of Monett; two step-sons, Fred Stockton and Ray Stockton, both of Monett; one brother, Jim Ledbetter, of California; one sister, Rene Carpenter, of California.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at Bennett- Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Burial followed at the Monett IOOF Cemetery.
