Track teams have tough outing at Monett meet
The Cassville Wildcat track and field team participated in a meet in Monett last Thursday. The Cassville boys placed 10th with 25.5 team points. The Wildcats finished ahead of Aurora and Seneca, but behind Stockton, Neosho, Monett, Carl Junction, Greenfield, Lamar and McDonald County, Mt. Vernon and Southwest.
Results from the Monett meet for the boys were as follows:
3,200-meter relay team: sixth place.
800-meter relay team: tie for fifth place with McDonald County.
400-meter relay team: fourth place.
Nate Evans: fifth place, 400-meter run.
1,600-meter relay team: sixth place.
Kyle Bishop: second place, high jump.
Nick Pianalto: second place, discus.
The Cassville Ladycats finished the Monett meet with an 11th place tie with Southwest.
The 3,200-meter relay team finished sixth at the meet, and Brittany Vollenweider placed second in the discus.
Both the Wildcat and Ladycat track teams will be participating in the Big 8 Conference Meet at Carl Junction on Thursday, May 4, beginning at 4 p.m.
