He was born Sept. 30, 1920, in McDonald County to Lott Gilbert Banks and Rilda Caroline Mahurin Banks. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
He worked for the CC Camp in 1935, was a farmer and retired from Gold Kist Processing Plant. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virble Fletcher Banks; four sisters, Hazel Schrader, Edith Wade, Maggie Woodard and Mae Laughlin; and four brothers, Floyd Banks, Denver Banks, Jay Banks and Armon Banks.
Survivors include: two daughters, Zelda Horton and her husband, Delbert, of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Betty Patterson, of Powell; two sisters, Oleta Laughlin, of Wichita, Kan., and Geneva Antle, of Exeter; two brothers, Vernon Banks and Ed Banks, both of Washburn; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday at Dent Cemetery, north of Pea Ridge, with Pastor Al Fowler officiating.
