John Lee Galyen, 54, of Purdy, passed away Friday, April 21, 2006, in Cox-Monett Hospital, Monett.
He was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Seligman, the son of John Thomas and Margaret (Brandon) Galyen. On Sept. 15, 1989, in Washburn, he was united in marriage to Eupha Lakey, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Michael Galyen, of Purdy, Patrick Kaneko, of South Carolina, Stephen Fenner, of Rogers, Ark., and Christopher Fenner and his wife, Melissa, of Decatur, Ark.; three daughters, Mary Galyen, of Rogers, Ark., Summer Galdamez and her husband, Luis, of Cassville, and Samantha Myers, of Harrison, Ark.; one brother, David Clevenger, of Aurora; two sisters, Marie Bickford and her husband, Howard, of Cassville, and Neva Tucker, of Avoca, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He received his education at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. He was a self-employed yard maintenance man. He lived his entire life in Barry County. He was a member of Washburn First Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held today (Wednesday) in Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Robert Day conducted the services.
