The Ladycat girls track team began competition on April 3 at the Webb City Relays.
Girls receiving individual medals at the opening meeting were Misty Long, who placed second in the 3,200-meter run, and Brittany Vollenweider, who finished fourth in the discus.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Ron'L Hoff, Ariel Abramovitz, Tia Baker and Misty Long placed third.
On Tuesday, the girls competed in the 9-10th grade meet in Carl Junction.
Third place medals were awarded to Long in the 1,600-meter run, Hoff in the 400-meter run and Vollenweider in the discus.
Other girls and relay teams that placed in their events were: Baker, Beagle, Abramovitz and Long for the 3,200-meter relay; Destiny Massey in the 100-meter hurdles; Hoff in the 100-meter run; Paige Hukill, Leah Jones, Hoff and Brittany Wilbanks in the 800-meter relay; Beagle in the 1,600-meter run; Hukill, Whitley Willard, Wilbanks and Vollenweider in the 400-meter relay; Jones in the 400-meter run; Wilbanks in pole vaulting; and Hukill in the 200-meter run.
The girls track team is coached by Brian Wilbanks.
Boys results
Members of the Wildcat boys track squad also competed in the the 9-10th grade meet at Carl Junction. Cassville placed fourth out of nine teams competing.
Individual medals were earned by the following CHS athletes:
Ryan Schlichtman: first place, 1,600-meter run, 5:01; and third, 800-meter run.
Cory Wilbanks: third, 1,600-meter run; and fourth, 800-meter run.
Jon Haney: fourth, 100-meter run; sixth, 200-meter run; and fifth, 400-meter run.
Jeremy Archuleta: third, long jump.
Devan Scroggins: fourth, pole vault.
Cody Lee: fourth, shot put.
Austin Carlson: fourth, 300 hurdles.
