George G. Hilton, 88, of Aurora, died Monday, April 3, 2006, in St. John's Hospital, Aurora.
He was born to George and Edith Bond Hilton on Dec. 4, 1917, in Mounds, Okla. He was a retired maintenance mechanic and a World War II veteran. He was crew chief for the 99th bomb group, spent two years in North Africa and Italy and flew 234 combat missions.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald Bowles; five brothers, Dayne, Wayne, Raymond, Robert and Dale Hilton; and for sisters, Leola Newton, Christine Waggoner, Shirley Hilton and Vesta Carl.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son, George Hilton Jr., of Louisiana, Mo.; two daughters, Judith Hocutt, of dallas, Texas, and Elizabeth Hilton, of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Doris Triplett, of Oakland, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Faith Full Gospel Church under the direction of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, near Butterfield.
