Superintendent thanks community for support Dear Editor:

Thursday, April 6, 2006

On behalf of the Board of Education, staff and students of Cassville R-IV Schools, I would like to thank the patrons of the school district for showing their support for the education of the children currently attending school and for those who will attend Cassville R-IV Schools in the future by approving the school bond/levy issue.

I vow to our patrons that we will continue to be good stewards of their money and their trust. We will work hard to get the most out of these projects and this vote of confidence.

School district personnel will immediately take the required action for the projects to begin. Bond sales will begin in the near future. Building plans will be finalized, and bids taken as soon as possible. The Board of Education will discuss and make a decision as soon as possible regarding the pursuit of FEMA funding. this could delay the construction of the intermediate school. Otherwise, we hope to begin construction on the approved projects by this fall. The completion of each project will take 12 to 18 months after it begins. We hope to be able to use at least some of the additional facilities during the 2007-08 school year.

You have recognized the needs of the school district regarding growth and have decided to address those facility needs at this time. You have also made the financial commitment required to continue to provide a high quality education for the children of our school district for years to come.

Sincerely,

Jim Orrell
