Dear Editor: Women and girls do have a choice. A choice not to have sex so a child is not conceived. There needs to be more education on abstinence and planning. With that, they are empowered and have the freedom to make good, positive choices that will not emotionally and physically scar them and put their child to death.

When another person becomes involved (a baby) that really limits your choices. Nobody has the right to take another's life just because they choose to.

There will always be women who seek abortions, legal or not. Far fewer would if it were illegal. To say we should legalize abortion so women won't die in back alley abortions makes no sense. What about the women who die from "safe abortions" and the abortion pill RU486, which killed seven women in the U.S. and injured 850 more?

At Tillers Clinic in Wichita, Kan., on Jan. 13, 2005, a woman was transported from his clinic and died of complications from an abortion. That was not the first time the ambulance transported someone from his clinic to the hospital, and I imagine it won't be the last. Tiller also has two chaplains there to baptize and bless babies-funerals included if you wish. I would say that is an admission that theses babies are not just "tissue." They are tiny living people. Is that not murder?

The miracle of conception is just that, a miracle from God. Abortion destroys the miracle.

If you don't know much about abortion, how they are performed, and the lasting effects on girls, women and babies, I encourage you to inform yourself. Christians, I ask you when we stand before God can we tell him we cared for his children?
