Lorraine D. Brown, 79, of Bemidji, Minn., died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Neilson Place in Bemidji. Memorial services were held on Monday, at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Major Eugene Harris and Captain Carmon Harris, Salvation Army, officiated. Inurnment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Minn.

Lorraine Doris Callahan was born July 27, 1926, in Ayr, N.D., to Alvin and Inga (Paulson) Callahan. She moved to Brainerd, Minn., where she grew up and graduated from high school. After graduation she moved to St. Paul and married Lloyd Brown on Sept. 18, 1948. They made their home in Elk River, MN and she was primarily a homemaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church.

survivors include: four daughters: Susan (James) Brown-Whistler, Pine City, Minn., Vicki (Dan) Ilstrup, Bemidji, Minn., Linda Jo Brown (Ken Ahlbom), Bemidji, Minn., and Janice K. Brown (Bill Anderson), Bemidji, Minn.; four grandchildren; five sisters, Betty (Everett) Turnbull, Hastings, Minn., Carmon (Eugene) Harris, Brainerd, Minn., Ilene Isle, Minneapolis, Minn., Dorolese (Larry) Collette, Brainerd, and Karen (Vernon) Liebold, Little Falls, Minn.; and her brother Jerome (Lonnie) Callahan, Osteen, Fla.
