Hila Wierman, 87, of Bryant, Ark., died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Grace Healthcare of Benton. She was born to Samuel Vanderpool and Sylvia Thompson on March 7, 1919, in Exeter. She was formerly of Webb City and a member of First Baptist Church of Webb City. She had lived in Bryant, Ark., for the past six years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clyde E. Wierman; her parents Samuel and Sylvia Vanderpool; brothers, Joseph Vanderpool, Orville Vanderpool, Jeff Vanderpool, Ed Vanderpool; and sisters, Ellen Ellis Hazel Vanderpool, Grace Vanderpool and Maggie Lee Arnold.
survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Fisher and husband, Lloyd, of Joplin, and Sandra Porter and husband, Mike, of Bryant, Ark.; one brother A.B. Vanderpool, of Enid, Okla.; five grandchildren; and six great-granddaughters.
She was active in her church, garden club and volunteered for various community organizations.
Funeral services were at Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, with Victor Hailey officiating. Burial followed at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery at Joplin. Pallbearers were Tommy Vanderpool, Ronnie Wierman, Curt Patrick, Dean Carver, David Allen and Ron Hall.
