The Exeter Lady Tigers ended the 2005-06 season with an impressive 25-3 record. Their play this year garnered the squad several All-Ozark 7 Conference honors.
Jason Cole, who has served as Exeter's head girls' basketball coach for three years, was named Ozark 7 Coach of the Year. He led the Lady Tigers to a perfect 12-0 conference record.
Exeter freshman Whitney Edie earned Player of the Year honors in the Ozark 7. Edie averaged 19 points per game during the season. In addition, senior deAnna Harris, who averaged 11.6 points per game, was named to the All-Ozark 7 first team.
Senior Janelle Scott was a second team selection and junior Ashley Porter received honorable mention recognition. Scott and Porter averaged 7.8 and 6.5 points per game respectively.
Other Barry County players tapped for the All-Ozark 7 team were: Avery Roller, Purdy sophomore, first team; Kayla Ferguson, Southwest junior, first team; Sierra Pryor, Purdy sophomore, second team; Jessica Mitchell, Southwest sophomore second team; Carlie Senseney, Wheaton senior, second team; Haley Goostree, Wheaton senior, second team; Brittany Clifton, Southwest sophomore, honorable mention; and Jamie Crane, Wheaton senior, honorable mention.
Pictures of all players from Barry County named to the All-Ozark 7 Conference team will be included in next week's Cassville Democrat.
