Howard H. "Lum" Snodgrass, 86, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Monett Health Care Center.

He was born Nov. 16 1916, in Hurley, to Nathan and Rosemary (Johnson) Snodgrass. He married Erple Hilton Nov. 11, 1945, in Eureka Springs, Ark., and she preceded him in death on June 28, 1998.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was former owner and operator of Aurora Petroleum and supply. A member of the Aurora Unity Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe; two sisters, Pauling Frazier and Hildreth Snodgrass.

Survivors include: one son, Mike, of McDowell; two daughters, Paula Bowman, of Monett, and Pat Muller, of Pulaskifield; one brother, Clifford Snodgrass, of Pocahontas, Ark.; two sisters, Cuma Bradley, of Aurora, and Ada Lisz, of California; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held yesterday, March 16, in the Aurora United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Burial followed with military honors in Maple Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
