Emella Kathleen Owings Roller, 82, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006, after a lengthy illness. She died at the home of her son, Don Roller who lives on the family farm between Washburn and Seligman.
She was born on July 14, 1923, at Exeter to Vance and Edith (McClure) Owings. She graduated from Cassville High School in 1942 and taught school for two years at Muncie. On July 14, 1944, she was united in marrige to Wendell Lee Roller. To this union six children were born. She was a partner in business with her husband, Wendell, at Roller Nursery. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville. She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, her daughter Wenda Lynn Roller and her brother Charles Owings.
Survivors include: five children and their spouses, Joe Don and Beth Roller, of Seligman, Rae Jean Roller and Vaughan Slaton, of Tulsa, Okla., Eva and Dale Tibbs, of Smartville, Calif., Geniece and Ken Bradford, of Queen City, texas, and Katy and Lonnie Houk, of Wentzville; two brothers, John Carl Owings and his wife, Joann, of Klamath Falls, Ore., and George Owings, of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Clarabelle Elliott, of Bartlesville, Okla., Annabelle McDaniel, of Wheatridge, Colo.; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Ramsey, of Tulsa, Okla., Montez Smith, of Tulsa, Okla., and Juanita Owings, of Garden City, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville with Brother Danny Heupel officiating. Interment was in King Cemetery, near Seligman.
