Ruth Rexall Pryor, 97 years, 8 month, 16 days, passed away March 6, 2006, in Webco Manor. Ruth was born near Hollowell, Kansas, on June 18, 1908, the daughter of Riley Godfrey and Mary (Frame) Zwahlen.

She went to a country school, District 90, near Hallowell. She married Olon James Pryor September 9, 1924, and to this union were born two daughters, Jewell Francis and Norma Faye, and one son, Olon Leon. In 1939 she moved to a small farm near Cassville, Missouri. Ruth milked cows and later was employed by Armour Packing Company, where she worked until she retired. She moved to Marshfield, Missouri, in 1994 to be near her children. In 2001, she entered Webco Manor.

Ruth loved family gatherings, flowers, gardening, cooking, and doing things for others. Memorable events in her life were World War I (when more people died from influenza than were killed in the war,) and when Central announced the end of the war over the rural magneto phone. She always remembered when women got the right to vote in 1920. Ruth was a pianist and Sunday school secretary at Victory Church of God Holiness for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, J.C. Zwahlen; one sister, Ruby Hamblin; and a son-in-law, H.D. Hayes.

She is survived by two daughters, Jewell Simpson and her husband John, and Norma Hayes; one son, Leon Pryor and his wife Susie; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, in the funeral home with Brother Dale Menefee and James Aldred officiating. Burial will be in Sparks Cemetery, near Butterfield, Barry County, Missouri.
