Bubby Carl Hobbs, 67, of Washburn, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at St. John's Hospital in Cassville.
He was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Bruneau, Idaho, son of the late Everett Carl and Clara Mae (Roberts) Hobbs. He married Barbara Jean Charles on April 15, 1963, in Cassville.
He was a cattle farmer working for Hill's Farms at the time of his death. Prior to this he had worked at McGruder Hardwood in Wayne, for L.D. Brown hauling sheetrock in Kansas City, and Brown Farms. He served his country in the Air Force stationed in Lubbock, Texas.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Hobbs; three sons, Les Hobbs and his wife, Jane, of Washburn, Jeff Hobbs and his wife, Dorothy, of Exeter, Chris Hobbs and his wife, Brandy, of Exeter; two daughters, Jenny Thomas and her husband, Randy, of Cassville, and Terri Henderson and her husband, John, of Exeter; three brothers, Dewey Hobbs, of Polo, Don Hobbs, of Grandview, and Max Hobbs, of Racine; two sisters, Linda Powell, of Wheaton, and Mary Washick, of Purdy; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doyle Hobbs.
Friends will be received today (Wednesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wheaton Funeral Home, Wheaton.
Funeral services will be held at graveside Thursday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, with Rev. Jerry Yarnall officiating.
