LUCILE NATALIE GUFFEY

Lucile Natalie Guffey, 99, of Monett, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Maple Tree Terrace Assisted Living in Carthage.

She was born March 30, 1906, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Natalie Schillem Balzaret. She married Samuel Carl Guffey in 1928, and he preceded her in death. She was a retired school teacher from Chicago Board of Education, and a member of Illinois Teachers Union. She was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Monett.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Bennet-Wormington Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Wormington officiating. Interment was at Waldensian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Monett.
