Billy Joe Bangs, 71, of Morrilton, Ark., died Feb. 22, 2006, following an accidental fall. Born Aug. 1, 1934, at Marcella, Ark., he was the son of Hubert T. Bangs and Ruth Doyle Bangs.
He was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Cummings on Jan. 3, 1955, in Batesville, Ark., and was married to her for 26 years prior to her death.
He was owner and operator of Bangs Farms (Bangs Rice Hulls) for the last 10 years and was a truck driver for 52 years. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
survivors include: his wife of over 18 years, Frances Bangs; three children, a son, Joe Bangs and his wife Tina Bangs, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; a daughter, Pamela Cantrell and her husband, Lynn, of Locust Grove, Ark.; a daughter Amanda Montague and her husband Michael, of Batesville; three brothers, Jim Bangs, of Locust Grove, Gene Bangs, of Marcella, and Pete Bangs of Desha; one step-daughter, Brenda Ryan and her husband Pat, of Somerville, Tenn.; one stepson, Bobby Baggett and his wife Jo Marie, of Somerville, Tenn.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Katherine (Cummings) Bangs; three sisters, Broncho Fortune, Avis Hall, Hester King; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were at the Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville, Ark., with Larry Morrison officiating. Burial was at Marcella Cemetery at Marcella, Ark.
