Margie N. Kiefer, 82, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in her home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Poplar Bluff, the daughter of Frank S. and Mary (Boyet) Pearce. On June 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arthur Kiefer, who survives.

Additional survivors include: a son, Mark Kiefer, of Decatur, Ga.; a daughter, Michelle Plunkett, of Decatur, Ala.; a sister, Donna Baker, of Pennsacola, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Florida State. She served her country in the United States Marines during World War II. After the war she worked for the B. F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company as an executive secretary for several years. She also taught High School Business and English. In 1982 she and Arthur moved to Shell Knob to make their home. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob.

A memorial service was held Monday in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Rev. Denzel Nonhof will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.
