U.S. forests are not for sale

Thursday, February 16, 2006

Dear Editor:

On Saturday night, Feb. 11, at 6:10 p.m., it was reported on KY3 news that the Bush administration is proposing to sell 21,566 acres of Missouri's Mark Twain National Forest to pay for rural schools.

We cannot allow this to happen! For a few dollars today our quality of life will be diminished forever.

We must nip this short-sidedness in the bud. Say NO; our forest is not for sale.
