Crews began construction on Monday at the new Murphy's Gas Station, which will be located in the new Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot. The new Supercenter will contain a full-service deli and bakery, a one-hour photo department, a large grocery area, a new automotive center with a drive-through recreational vehicle bay and several car bays, a heated green house, a state-of-the-art pharmacy, a vision center, a branch of the First State Bank of Purdy, Smart Style Hair Salon and a Subway restaurant. Veteran and new associates are working together to set fixtures in the new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Cassville. Next week, Wal-Mart associates will begin stocking the new 160,000-square-foot building with spring and summer merchandise. "They're holding trailers at the warehouse in Bentonville for us right now," said Susan Lynxwiler, manager. "We will have over 50 loads of just fixtures to set up first." Wal-Mart associates were divided into teams to ensure organization during the move-in process. "We've hired great people," said Lynxwiler. "We're expanding our family. We've had very few transfers. Most of our people are local people, which we want." The Supercenter will open on March 22. Democrat Photo
