Elvin LDee Kime, 72, of Cassville, passed away at his home Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006.
He was born Nov. 26, 1933, in North Liberty, Ind., the son of Elroy and Marie (Kizer) Kime. He was united in marriage Jan. 7, 1953, in Lakeville, Ind., to Alta E. Magnuson, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two son, Randy Kime, of Purdy, and Ricky Kime, of Cassville; two daughters, Rhonda Magnuson and her husband, Jeff, of Springfield, and Becky Herr and her husband, Dennis, of Joplin; four brothers, Earl, of Indiana, Carl, of Michigan, Auther, of Washington, and Russel Kime, of Arkansas; one sister, Clarice Haimbaugh and her husband, Howard, of Exeter; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Donald, Howard and Dennis Kime, and one sister, Evelyn Voelker.
He was a 1952 graduate of North Liberty High School. He was very active in school and played on the basketball team. In 1953 he entered the United States Navy. Following his discharge he returned to North Liberty where he continued his education and worked as an engineer for Wells Aluminum. During this time he also worked for his brother as a draftsman. In 1973 he moved his family to Cassville where he was the plant manager for Wells Aluminum. He later supervised the building of the new Wells Aluminum Plant facility. He was a member of the Studebaker Club, Southwest Missouri Flying Club, OB's, Cassville Rotary Club where he was a past president. He was a stanch Bobby Knight fan. He was also a farmer.
He attended Bible Baptist Church in Cassville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Brad Lowrie and Pastor Wayne Ferguson will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, with military rites.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Bible Baptist Church.
