The whole game would be a back-and-forth battle between the teams as Cassville was outscored 20-17 at the end of the first half and then rallied to outscore the Lady Patriots 29-14 in the second half. In the end, Cassville earned a hard-fought 36-34 victory.
Brittany Vollenweider led the Ladycats with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Julie Cupps followed her with 8 points, including one three-pointer. Others adding to the Cassville point total were Jessie Gripka with 6 points, Abby Munoz with 5 and Gabby LeCompte with 2. Munoz also pulled down five rebounds for the Ladycats.
"We had several girls step up," said Coach Chris Shore. "It was a nice win."
The victory lifted the Ladycats' record to 7-10.
This Thursday, Cassville will travel to Chadwick followed by another road game against Webb City on Jan. 31. The Ladycats won't be back on home court until Feb. 2 when they face off against Lamar in a Big 8 contest.
