Bernice O. McAllister, 78, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, in St. Mary Rogers Memorial Hospital, Rogers, Ark.
She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Washburn, the daughter of Rice and Edith (Morgan) Banks. She was married to Daniel Hauck, who preceded her in death. On June 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to Ralph McAllister, who preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Neoma Hilery and Ozella Daniels.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rita Scarlett and her husband, Ernie, of Berryville, Ark., and Zenda Hauck, of Washburn; four stepsons, Edward McAllister, of Webb City, Michael McAllister and his wife, Patricia, of Kansas City, Joseph McAllister of Seligman and Kenton McAllister of Kansas City; three grand-daughters; and one grandson, Jeff McAllister.
She received her education at Washburn, where she graduated from high school. She lived in Wichita, Kan., for a few years and moved back to Washburn 50 years ago. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ and the Red Brangus Association.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, in Hickman Cemetery, Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services.
