Gwendolyn "Gwen" Adams, 90, of Exeter, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Alfred Thomas and Olwen (Hughes) Marsh. On Jan. 5, 1934, she was united in marriage to Earl Harry Adams in Fargo, N. D. After 27 years, he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1961. They had resided in Exeter since 1948.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Exeter. For 27 years, she ministered as an angel of mercy at the hospital in Cassville. After retirement she continued to serve those in need for another six years while working in the doctor's office and at the Red Rose Inn care center. She had resided at the care center for the last 21 months.
Survivors include: by her children: Earl Adams and wife, Mary Lou, of Cassville, Roger Adams and wife, Ruth, of Joplin; Lonna Edens and husband, Larry, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren:
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Harris, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday in First Baptist Church of Exeter under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. Rev. Jerry Yarnall conducted the services.
