Last Monday, the Cassville Ladycats played host to the Billings Ladycats and were outmatched, falling 56-45.

Julie Cupps led Cassville with 29 points. Brittany Vollenweider followed her with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Jessie Gripka with 4 points, and Abby Munoz with 2 points and three rebounds. One other notable is Gabby LeCompte who had two assists and two steals.

On Thursday, the Ladycats took on Blue Eye and suffered a disappointing 41-48 loss in a very physical game.

Cupps again led the team with 18 points. Vollenweider contributed 8 points, Gripka had 7, and LeCompte and Munoz added 5 and 3 points respectively.

"The girls are playing hard and playing good team basketball," said head coach Chris Shore.

With last week's two losses, it's for sure that the Ladycats are looking to turn things around this week as they enter Big 8 Conference play.

Cassville travels to Mt. Vernon on Thursday to take on the Lady Mountaineers, and then have a game-less week before facing off against Carl Junction on their turf on Jan. 23.
