Chester Darrell Brisco, 67, of Viola, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

He was born in Viola, May 30, 1938, the son of Charles Orley Henry and Rissia (Meadows) Brisco. He was united in marriage on Aug. 2, 1958, to Kay Fortner and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

survivors include: one son, Charles Brisco and his wife, Laura, of Cape Fair; two daughters, Diannia Berkstresser and her husband, John, of Wichita, Kan., and Marlene Abbett, of Cape Fair; his fiancÚ, Frances Hobbs, of Cassville; three sisters, Vanita Carswell, of Lufkin, Texas, Salina Park and Beulah Pettigrew, both of Aurora; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He grew up in Viola and graduated from Blue Eye High School, Blue Eye in 1956. He was a machine operator and supervisor at Juvenile Shoe Factory in Aurora and later worked for Associated Grocers in Springfield, Missouri. He retired from Associated Grocers in 2000. He lived in Southwest Missouri all his life. He was saved Dec. 1, 2005.

Funeral services were Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Allen Berkstresser conducted the services. Burial was at McCullough Cemetery, Viola.
