Hazel Evelyn Spiva, 92, of Monett, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville. She was born Oct. 14, 1913, in McCune, Kan., to the late Wilber and Cora Amos Newman. She married Rev. Harold Spiva on Nov. 4, 1935, in Wheaton, and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Monett.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two sisters, Selma Harrell and Neva Newman.

Survivors include: one daughter, Evelyn Haun, of Monett; one son, Winford Spiva, of Walnut grove; one sister, Wilma Ridenour, of Monett; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday at Macedonia Cemetery, Stella, with Rev. Edward Neimeyer officiating.
