Cassville gymnasts bring home top team trophies

Cassville gymnasts brought home team trophies and individual medals from the Monett Mid-Year Gymnastics Meet held Dec. 3.

The Level 7 team won first place at the meet and set a new gym Level 7 record with a team score of 106.2.

Level 7 individual results were as follows:

Danielle Pianalto: vault, 9.35, first; bars, 9.1, first; beam, 8.15, fourth; floor, 8.85, second; all-around, 35.45, second.

Sarah Deshazer: vault, 9.0, second; bars, 8.75, third; beam, 9.1, first; floor, 8.75, third; all-around, 35.6, first.

Montana Hendrix: vault, 8.6, sixth; bars, 8.95, second; beam, 9.0, second; floor, 8.35, fifth; all-around, 34.9, third.

Kristi Whitcomb: vault, 8.85, fourth; bars, 7.65, fifth; beam, 7.85, fifth; floor, 8.15, seventh; all-around, 32.5, fifth.

Cassville's Level 6 team also won first place at the Monett meet. Individual Level 6 results are as follows:

Emma Henson: vault, 8l.3, fourth; bars, 8.5, third; beam, 8.1, third; floor, 8.4, third; all-around, 33.2, fourth.

Courtney Cornelison: vault, 8.55, third; bars, 8.7, second; beam, 8.0, fourth; floor, 8.25, fourth; all-around, 33.4, third.

Risa Darveaux: vault, 8.75, second; bars, 7.9, fourth; beam, 8.1, second; floor, 9.0, second; all-around, 33.65, second.

Level 5 gymnasts from Cassville placed fifth as a team. Individual results are as follows:

Brooke Williams: vault, 8.0, fourth; bars, 7.2, fifth; beam, 7.95, fourth; floor, 8.7, second; all-around, 31.85, fourth.

Jayse Henderson: vault, 6.85, fifth; bars, 6.9, fourth; beam, 7.75, fifth; floor, 8.75, second; all-around, 30.25, fourth.

Jackie Shelton: vault, 8.82, fifth; bars, 8.65, third; beam, 8.9, first; floor, 7.05, fifth; all-around, 32.8, fifth.

On Dec. 10, the Cassville Level 7 team competed at the Santa Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., with the following results:

Pianalto: vault, 9.35; bars, 9.525; beam, 9.4; floor, 8.4; all-around, 35.675.

Hendrix: vault, 8.8; bars, 9.15; beam, 7.2; floor, 8.65; all-around, 33.9.

Deshazer: vault, 9.15; bars, 9.35; beam, 8.6; floor, 8.15; all-around, 35.25.
