Mabel Louise Forbes, 70, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Dec.16, 2005, in her home.

She was born May 2, 1935, in Lawton, Mich., the daughter of James and Juanita (Noyse) Allen. On Sept. 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ernest Edward Forbes, who survives. Additional survivors include: one son, Ernest James Forbes and his wife, Lourdes, of Monett; two daughters, Betty Billings and her husband, James, of Purcell, and Linda Brokob and her husband, Carl Jr., of Webb City; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mabel received her education in Lawton, Mich. In 1960, she moved to Missouri. She worked for the State Hospital in Nevada for a while and then was employed at St. John's Hospital in Joplin. In 1984, she moved to Cassville to make her home and worked at the senior center as a cook for several years. She was a member of The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church at Eagle Rock.

Graveside services were held Monday in Union Cemetery, Stella, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jim Clay conducted the services.
