Wilma Imogene Dunklin, 80, of Independence, passed away Dec. 12, 2005, at Regency Care Center.
She was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Monett, the daughter of William and Gladys (Henderson) Gates. She retired from Armco Steel Co. in 1980 where she was director of supplies and services. She was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church and Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence, an officer of the Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Cassville, Eagle Rock Community Center, and was Queen Mum of the Regency Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Onest Melvin.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patrica K. Pittman, and her husband, Gene, of Independence; one brother, William Gates Jr., of Springfield; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett. Visitation will be prior to services.
