Last week, the Cassville Ladycats travelled to Aurora to participate in the Lady Houn' tournament. Cassville lost their first round game but turned around and won the second round game as well as the consolation championship.
"Defensively, we have been playing very well, but our offense has been a little hot and cold," said Coach Chris Shore. "It was a good confidence builder for a young team."
The Ladycats opened the tournament on Nov. 21 against Aurora. The hosts won the match 41-33.
Jessica Mitchell led the team with 12 points. She was followed by Julie Cupps with 8 points, Jessie Gripka with 6 points, Abby Munoz with 5 points and Gabby LeCompte with 2 points.
The team had the next three days off, but on Dec. 2, the Ladycats were back and this time playing Monett.
Cassville earned the victory in this game by a final score of 39-28. Mitchell was the team's scoring leader with 18 points. Cupps also reached double digits with 13 points. Brittany Vollenweider finished with 6 points and LeCompte again added 2.

In this game, a trio of Cassville players scored in the double digits. Cupps led with 16 points followed by Vollenweider with 13 and Munoz with 10. Mitchell had 9 points in the win while Gripka and LeCompte had 2 points each.
The Ladycats will open their home season on Thursday when they host McDonald County. The Ladycats are also at home on Monday against Marionville.
