Lora Bernita Ryan, 79, of Harrisonville, formerly Cassville, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in the Crown Care Center of Harrisonville.

She was born May 20, 1926, in Cassville, the daughter of Oscar and Vicey (Ennis) Brooks. On March 27, 1946, in Bentonville, Ark., she was united in marriage to John Ryan, who survives.

Additional survivors include: a daughter, Peggy Kutchback and her husband, John, of Harrisonville; two brothers, Royal and Buck Brooks, both of Cassville; two sisters, Janice Ray, of Kansas City, and Irene Brooks, of Lamar, Colo.; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Marlin, Harold and twins, Wayne and Blane Brooks and four sisters, Violet Madison, Kathryn Bullard, Jewell Bean and Leoma Cole.

She attended elementary school in Oak Ridge, graduated from Cassville High School and received two years of business college in Springfield. She worked as a secretary for 30 years in Springfield and Republic. In December of 1999, she and her husband moved to Harrisonville to make their home.

Bernita was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Graveside services were Monday in Mineral Springs Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
