JEAN COX

She was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Calico Rock, Ark., the daughter of Zelf and Mabel Davis Lawrence. She was a custodian at Monett Schools and was a member of Ebenzer Baptist Church of Monett.

She married Charles E. Cox on Nov. 22, 1953, in Monett, and he survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Douglas Cox and his wife, Donna, of Aurora; one daughter, Daphane Brandt and her husband, Joey, of Monett; three sisters, Ruby Turner, of Cassville, Robbie Cox, of Monett, and Betty Gebhardt, of Columbia; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Willie Lawrence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. Jerry Harter officiating. Burial will be at Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett.
