Cassville stands at 20-4 after a pair of wins this past week including an opening round victory over Monett in the first match of district tournament play at Carthage.

Last Tuesday, Cassville took a hard fought win from Webb City in a road match by a final tally of 1-0.

Senior Brett Buchanan had a perfect header to score the lone goal. He was assisted by freshman Aaron Jamieson on a corner kick.

The Wildcat defense was once again perfect allowing only four shots on goal and earning another shutout. The win was goal keeper Kyle Bishop's 19th of the season and his 13th shut-out.

Against Monett, the Wildcats were faced with the task of beating the Cubs for the third time this season.

Senior Nick Schlichtman had the game's only goal in the first half, which proved to be the game winner. Ryan Schlichtman was credited with an assist.

Defenders Nate Evans, Spencer Lynch and Jason Bromley held their ground and kept Monett scoreless. Bishop also recorded several big saves.

The 1-0 win propels Cassville into round two of district play against Ozark.

This year's Wildcat squad has set a school record with 20 wins on the season.

Cassville has broken a host of school records this year and head Coach Terry Jamieson was confident about the team's chances at district.

"We can play with anyone if we will show up and battle, but in the end everyone needs breaks and healthy bodies so we will see how things go," said Jamieson.
