The Cassville Ladycat cross country team finished in second place at the Big 8 Conference cross country meet in Monett last Thursday.
Courtney Beagle placed fifth at the meet with a time of 21:51. By finishing in the top seven at the meet, Beagle earned first team All-Big 8 honors.
Right behind Beagle were Ron'l Hoff, Ariell Abramovitz and Tia Baker who placed ninth, 10th and 11th respectively in times of 22:35, 22:37 and 22:38. Their outstanding efforts garnered them All-Big 8 second team recognition.
Members of the Cassville boys team finished fourth overall.
The top Wildcat runner was Shane Beck, who placed 13th in a time of 18:38. He also earned a spot on the All-Big 8 second team.
"Our times were much improved from the last time we ran at Monett," said Coach Chris Shore. "I am proud of our kids."
The Cassville cross country team will now compete at the district meet, which will be held Saturday at Monett.
