Curtis "Fat" Eugene Anderson, 80, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Cassville, the son of Clifford and Verlie (Spain) Anderson. On July 1, 1944, in Bentonville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Ruby Mattingly who preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; a son and brothers and sisters.
survivors include: one son, Steve Anderson, Cassville; and one daughter, Becky Burnette, of Cassville; two brothers, James Anderson, of Cassville, and Carroll Anderson, of Manhattan, Kan.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He received his education at Shady Grove. From Sept. 2, 1944, until June 26, 1946, he served in the United States Army during World War II. He drove a truck for Willis Shaw Express for 30 years and worked part time for Ramey's and Fastrip. Fat was a member of the American Legion Post #118 in Cassville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday,) at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial with military honors were at Antioch Cemetery, Cassville.
